Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province  The city of Ayutthaya has its own valuable history hence it is also called “The ancient city” Places of worship, ancient places and magnificent temples is a unique civilization which was the main influence on the original pattern of Thai lifestyle which is the reason why the city is considered as a world heritage

  Climate:  Ayutthaya is directly affected by monsoon from the gulf of Thailand resulting in a continuous rain in Ayutthaya throughout the year. The average temperature is 23-32˚Celsius.
  High season:  Although it is suitable for travelling all year long. In summer, however, the weather can be very hot which is why it is recommended to visit Ayutthaya in winter.The temperature in winter is considered to be comfortable and more enjoyable.In the rainy season, the weather is humid. If you’re an adventurous type, then let’s go.

   Travelling instructions from Bangkok to Ayutthaya  About 1 hours. Distance 60 km.

  • Travelling by Private car   :  Rent Car from Airport for tourist group who wants privacy and safety trip can reserve rental car online    
  • Travelling by Train  :  Start from Hua Lam Pong train station(Bangkok) and get off at Ayutthaya train station. Estimated time is 2 hours. Ask for more information about timetable at the train station nearby.
  • Travelling by Bus  :  Start from bus terminal Mochit. Buses depart every 15 minutes from 4.30am to 7.30pm.
  • Travelling by Van  :  Start from the Victory Monument and Future Park Department store Rangsit. The van waits around Robinson Department store. Depart every hour, estimated time is 1.30 hour.
  • Travelling by Boat  :   Another option for foreigners, they can see not only the scenery and lifestyle of the community along the riverside but also can see many historical places.
        •  Manorah 2 ferry departs Mariot Resort and Spa crossing pier, the trip take 3 days 2 nights.
        •  Mekala ferry floats along Chao Phraya river, Food and drinks service, air-conditioned rooms are available. The trip take 2 days 1 night.   1. Wat Mahathat  Phra Prang Wat Mahathat established during the early Ayutthaya period. The temple is Influenced by Khmer style architecture. There are many Buddha relics located at the base of Phra Prang temple.

  2. Wat Phu Khao Thong  During that period, Burengnong moved the troops to Ayutthaya. Pagoda Golden Moutain was established to be memorial. Later the King Borommakot was ordered to repair and restoring the temple in Thai style architecture.

  3. Wat Na Phramen  It is the only temple in Ayutthaya, which was not destroyed by the Burmese, because this was the cantonment location of God Bago.

  4. Wat Chaiwatthanaram  This temple has been hailed as one of the most magnificent temples in Ayutthaya. Architecture and construction are different from other temples. It is situated at the side of the Chao Phraya River. Currently, the Fine Arts Department has restored the temple. Therefore, tourists would see the magnificence of the temple clearly.

  5. Wat Mongkhon Bophit  Another temple of which tourists come here to visit and to worship is "Luang Pho Mongkolbophit". The front area of the temple is full of shops selling local products for almost all types, such as carp, wicker, rattan, knife woods, preserves and sweets. This place is ideal for travelers who want to enjoy the beauty of the temple and buy souvenirs at the same time.

  6. Wat Phra Ram  It was built in the reign of King Ramet. The monastery has a big lagoon, which was previously called 'Shi Khan Lagoon'. But the name was later changed to 'Rama Lagoon'. At present, this place is the location of the park "Rama Lagoon", which is a place for recreation of residents and tourists visiting Bangkok.

  7. Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon  Naresuan palace is the location of the King which is a major attraction for the devotee to worship located at the rear side of this temple. It has the tallest pagoda in Ayutthaya and considered one of the most important historical places that stand on the top list of favorite place to visit for tourists.

  8. Wat Niwet Thammaprawat   It was built by imitating Western style Church and was served as a royal temple alongside Bang Pa In Palace. The architecture of the temple is based on the concept of Gothic. The chapel has a spire and glass walls which let the light shine through. The chapel is also the enshrined location of the Buddha statue called 'Phra Buddha Narumon Dhammawophas' found in meditation posture sitting in a booth "Ruean Kaew".

  1. Wat Lokkayasutharam Inside the temple, there is the statue of the reclining Buddha with 42 meters long and 8 meters high. His face turned to the north. His head is supported by lotus. His feet overlap each other at right angles.

Wat Phanan Choeng  It is also known as 'Phra Nang Choeng Temple', which is an important ancient temple, is widely famous and also features a statue of Luang Pho To (Phra To), an ancient respectable monk of Ayudhya, that gained respect from both Thai and foreign Buddhists. So, it is not surprising that this temple is always packed with people from all over the world.

  6. Wat Phra Sri Sanphet  There are no monks stays in the Phra Prang temple. It is the place keeping the ashes of the king as in the Emerald temple in Bangkok. Even though nowadays only some parts of building left, it still attracts tourists towards it.

  7. Wat Maheyong   Mountain mound temple has been served as a royal monastery. It was built in the reign of King Sam Phraya. In addition to its spacious area, the temple also has a spacious chapel that can hold more than 1,000 monks.

World Heritage 'Ayutthaya historical park' covers an area over 1,810 acres, it has been honored as a World Cultural Heritage and has been declared by UNESCO as the World Heritage Site, on December 13, 1991, from an ordinary session meeting of the Board of Directors of the World Heritage, at the Carthage City, Tunisia.

  2. Wat Phra Si Sanphet   an important temple of Ayutthaya that was built in the reign of King U Thong. Afterward, King Trailokkanat devoted his Montien into a temple of the palace for holding the important ceremony occasion and performing royal charity.

  3. Wat Rat Burana  Chao Sam Phraya hath established this temple at the cremation ceremony area of his two brothers, who died from battle each other to usurp the throne.

  4. Wihaan Phra Mongkhon Bophit  Phra Mongkon bophit Bronze Buddha the largest one in Thailand. Built in the early Ayutthaya period. Afterwards the Field Marshal Plaek Piboonsongkram era, all Cathedrals have been restored as they appear today.

This temple was destroyed by the enemy until the reign of the fourth her majesty gave an order to renovate the Viman Ratana and Phra Thinang Phlapphla Chatura Muk to be the royal residence when visited Ayutthaya.
